How CCLP Worldwide Evaluates Schools: The Good School Rating Framework

PURPOSE OF THIS FRAMEWORK

The Good School Rating Framework has been developed to bring clarity, consistency, and credibility to school evaluation in India.

In an environment where school rankings are often influenced by perception, popularity, or marketing visibility, CCLP Worldwide adopts a strict evidence-based, documentation-led approach to assess institutional capacity, rather than reputation.

This framework underpins all major CCLP Worldwide education research publications, including the Top 50 Private CBSE Schools in India (2025–26).

CORE PHILOSOPHY

A good school is defined not by claims, but by systems.

The framework is built on four guiding principles:

  1. Evidence over opinion
  2. Institutional systems over individual outcomes
  3. Transparency over promotion
  4. Comparability over popularity

THE GOOD SCHOOL RATING FRAMEWORK

Eight Parameters, One Composite View

Schools are evaluated across eight interrelated parameters, each reflecting a critical dimension of school functioning within the CBSE ecosystem.

STRICT-EVIDENCE AUDIT MODEL

What Evidence Is Considered

Only publicly accessible, verifiable sources are used, including:

  • National Board affiliation records
  • Mandatory Public Disclosure
  • Statutory and regulatory documents
  • Official institutional publications hosted on school websites

No unpublished, private, or informal information is accepted.

What Is Explicitly Excluded

To maintain objectivity and legal safety, the following are strictly excluded:

  • Google reviews or online ratings
  • Parent, student, or alumni surveys
  • Paid rankings, awards, or advertorial listings
  • Marketing brochures, promotional videos, or claims
  • Media popularity or social media presence

This exclusion policy is central to the framework’s credibility.

ELIGIBILITY & EXCLUSION CRITERIA

Eligible Institutions

Only schools ( Top 50 CBSE Schools In India) meeting all of the following criteria are considered:

  • Private, unaided institution
  • Valid CBSE affiliation confirmed via SARAS
  • Mandatory Public Disclosure available
  • Stable operational status during the audit period

Excluded by Design (IMPORTANT)

The following categories are deliberately excluded to ensure fair, like-for-like comparison:

  • Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV)
  • Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV)
  • Sainik Schools
  • Army Public Schools (APS)
  • Government or government-aided CBSE schools
  • Non-CBSE boards (ICSE, ISC, IB-only, State Boards)

These exclusions are methodological, not qualitative judgments.

INDEPENDENCE & GOVERNANCE

CCLP Worldwide maintains complete editorial and analytical independence.

  • No school pays for inclusion, scoring, or ranking
  • No prior intimation of scores is provided
  • No post-publication score changes are allowed except for factual corrections
  • Logos, names, or references do not imply endorsement

All findings represent independent academic opinion.

SCORING, NORMALISATION & TIERS

  • Scores are calculated out of 100, based on weighted parameters
  • Minor score differences are treated as analytical nuance, not absolute gaps
  • Rankings are interpreted using tier bands (Gold, Silver, Bronze) to avoid over-simplification

This approach aligns with the best practices in international education research.

LIMITATIONS & RESPONSIBLE USE

The framework does not:

  • Measure individual student achievement
  • Predict examination results
  • Replace CBSE inspections or regulatory audits
  • Certify or accredit institutions

It is intended as a reference and research tool to be used responsibly.
